BIOGRAPHY

 

 

 

Coach Arvetra Jones has a great passion for today’s youth and a desire to see them excel and exceed in life, and to help young people realize their dreams and potential. Coach Jones is respected as a trainer, clinician, camp director and mentor.  His knowledge of the game of basketball and his ability to teach the fundamentals are tremendous strengths.  

 

 

 

 

Jones began his basketball career at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines North Carolina where he was the starting point guard for 4 years. After high school Jones attended Laurinburg Prep School, in Laurinburg, NC, where he helped lead Laurinburg Prep to an impressive 29-1 record.  His success at Laurinburg Prep earned him a spot at Rockingham Community College, a Division 1 Junior College in Reidsville NC. Jones was picked to play in the Jerry Stackhouse Summer basketball league from 2008 – 2012, and played with NBA players such as John Wall (Washington Wizards), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Caveliers), Brandon Jennings (Detroit Pistons), Austin Rivers (New Orleans Pelicans), Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors), Raymond Felton (Dallas Mavericks), Mason Plumlee (Brooklyn Nets), Rasheed Wright (Europe) Rasheed Wallace (Retired NBA) and many others.  Coach Jones finished his collegiate career at St. Augustine University in Raleigh North Carolina in 2012

 

 

 

 

Jones successfully coached three years at The Salvation Army Community Center, in which his basketball team won consecutive championships back to back. It is through basketball training and mentorship on and off the court that Coach Jones believes that he can help make a difference in the lives of young people and give back to the community. He is a firm believer that if you have a strong foundation in Christ, wisdom, and knowledge of basic skills you can reach any level in life.  

 

In addition to his love for the game of basketball, Coach Jones has always been fully committed to his academic achievement and that success has led Coach Jones’ educational path to matriculate at St. Augustine’s University where he received his Bachelors of Arts Degree, and he is currently attending North Carolina Central Univsersity to obtain his Master’s Degree in social work.  Coach Jones’ career path has allowed him to work at The Salvation Army Community Center as a group leader, and is currently working with 4-H Youth Devlopment of Wake County, by mentoring youth and teaching life-skills through-out Wake County with experiential learning activities.

 

 Presently Coach Jones is the clinician and trainer of B2B Basketball Fundamental training.  This idea, now a reality has been sucessfully thriving and growing since June 2014. Coach Jones trains student athletes ages 12 & up weekly, taking them through a vigirous workout.  B2B  stands firmly on the basic fundamentals of basketball. Our areas of practice are technique, proper form, injury prevention, food/nutrition and much more.  

 

Jones is a native of Pinehurst, North Carolina, Jones and his wife Rotcelis currently reside in Durham NC.
